Meditation and Tarot

You can use meditation and tarot cards together. If you are having a hard time with meditation, tarot cards can help you with this. Tarot cards can help you to get a clear mind and help you to achieve a blankness when you meditate. Tarot cards will keep your mind occupied and will allow you to have a journey through meditation that you never imagined.

Getting Ready

The best thing that you can do is to use cards that are larger and with borders. The borders can be ones that are faded, and this is often seen on most tarot card decks.  Then, get ready to meditate and do this by avoiding meat and salt and drinking lots of water to keep you hydrated.

Make sure that your clothes are comfortable and if you get chilly easily, use a blanket. You can burn incense or candles if that helps you to stay calm. Sit in a comfortable place, in a chair or on the floor. You can use a cushion or a mat, whatever you prefer. Some people do choose to lay down but most of the time this makes people sleepy and so it isn’t highly recommended.

With your tarot cards close to you, pick a card. You can meditate on any card in the deck. Set your intentions to be safe and secure and then imagine yourself surrounded by a shield of light. Deep breathe and notice how your breath is going in and out. Try breathing in and counting to ten and then breathing out and counting to ten. Make sure that whatever you do you feel relaxed. You can add meditation into any part of your day, and you can choose a card ahead of time out of the tarot deck or you can randomly choose one.

Focusing on the Cards

There are 22 Major Arcana cards that work with your spiritual energy. There are 56 Minor Arcana cards that help you to understand events that are happening in your life. Each of the cards come in four suits that will help you to understand who you are such as:

  • Suit of Wands: Creativity and having passion.
  • Suit of Cups: Intuition and emotions.
  • Suit of Swords: Communicating and mental thoughts.
  • Suit of Pentacles: Material and practical things.

Look at the card that you choose and see all the details of it. Notice the symbols and colors of the cards and how the bodies in the picture look. Notice the background and see what the things mean to you.

Soften your eyes and set it so that you aren’t looking directly at the card, but you can still see your card in your peripheral vision. As the border starts to fade, you can notice how you can become part of the card. You might even feel like the card is pulling you inside of it.

Once you are more aware, you can let your meditation get deeper. You can choose a tarot card that works in your journey. Don’t worry about trying to control the cards but let the tarot cards be in control. Notice what is going on and enjoy the journey. Take all the time that you need with the cards and then when you are done, be aware of where you are.

If you want to come back to the place you are meditating and be out of the card, you can open your eyes. If you feel that you didn’t come back and you are still out of body, add some salt to your tongue and it will bring you completely out. Close down your area by putting out the incense and the candle.

Time of Reflection

Now is the time that you need to think about what the meditation and the card showed you. There might be some things that you didn’t like, and that is normal. Write down the things that you experienced in your journal and try to remember every single detail. This can help you when you go back later and read it again.

When you think about your meditation for the day, keep your eyes open and as you nurture the cards and their energy, you can journal these things. Look at what you wrote in your journal and then when you meditate again, see how things have changed and developed over time. These things can help you to understand your psychic gifts more, even.

Talking to a Psychic

This is an easy way to use the cards while you meditate but there are many ways to do this. You can always talk to a psychic if you are confused, or you aren’t sure what you should do next. Talking to a psychic and getting your own tarot card reading can help you to get suggestions so that you aren’t confused in this new meditation and so that you have a clear mind.

Holding a tarot card deck can be like having the world in your fingertips and this might seem overwhelming. A psychic can help you and guide you through this and as you meditate you will see that your spiritual path is strong and that you can accomplish whatever you want.
